Epipremnum aureum 'All Gold' (All Gold Pothos)

Epipremnum aureum 'All Gold', commonly known as All Gold Pothos, is a vibrant indoor foliage plant prized for its brilliant golden-yellow leaves and vigorous growth habit. Unlike traditional Golden Pothos varieties that display green and yellow variegation, All Gold features luminous chartreuse to golden foliage across the entire leaf, creating a bright and contemporary look that instantly lifts indoor spaces.

Native to the tropical forests of Southeast Asia and the Pacific Islands, pothos plants are renowned for their resilience and adaptability. All Gold combines the easy-care nature of classic pothos varieties with a more striking colour palette, making it a popular choice for homes, offices, retail environments, and commercial interiors.

Its trailing stems make it ideal for hanging baskets, elevated planters, shelves, and plant stands, while its climbing ability allows it to be trained up moss poles, trellises, and supports for a more vertical display.

Key Features

Bright golden-yellow foliage

Fast-growing and easy to maintain

Suitable for trailing or climbing displays

Adaptable to a wide range of indoor conditions

Excellent choice for beginners

Ideal for homes, offices, and commercial spaces

Provides year-round colour and texture

Growth Habit and Size

All Gold Pothos develops long, flexible stems that naturally trail from containers or climb when given support. The foliage remains dense and lush under suitable growing conditions, creating an attractive cascading effect.

When grown indoors, plants generally reach 20cm to 60cm in height while stems can extend between 1 and 3 metres or more over time. When trained to climb, leaves may increase in size as the plant matures.

Growth is considered fast, particularly during warmer months when provided with adequate light and moisture.

Care Requirements

Light

Prefers bright, indirect light.

The vibrant golden foliage develops its best colour in well-lit positions. Medium light conditions are tolerated, although leaves may become greener and growth may slow.

Avoid prolonged exposure to direct afternoon sunlight, which may scorch the foliage.

Watering

Allow the top few centimetres of soil to dry between watering.

Water thoroughly and ensure excess water drains freely from the pot.

Typically requires watering every 1 to 2 weeks depending on temperature, humidity, and light levels.

Soil

Thrives in a well-draining indoor potting mix.

A quality mix containing potting media, perlite, and coco peat provides ideal drainage and moisture retention.

Temperature and Humidity

Performs best in temperatures between 18°C and 30°C.

Adapts well to average indoor humidity levels but appreciates moderate humidity for optimal growth.

Protect from temperatures below 10°C.

Maintenance

All Gold Pothos is a low-maintenance plant requiring minimal attention.

Trim stems periodically to encourage bushier growth and maintain the desired shape.

Remove damaged or yellowing leaves as needed.

Feed monthly during spring and summer using a balanced liquid fertiliser.

Repot every 2 to 3 years or when roots begin filling the container.

Common Issues

Yellow Leaves

Usually caused by overwatering or poor drainage.

Leggy Growth

Most commonly caused by insufficient light.

Brown Leaf Tips

Can occur due to underwatering, inconsistent watering, or very dry indoor air.

Fading Foliage Colour

Often indicates the plant requires a brighter position.

Applications

Suitable for:

Hanging baskets

Indoor shelves

Office desks

Plant stands

Commercial fit-outs

Retail environments

Apartment living

Indoor plant walls

Interior styling projects

Its bright foliage pairs particularly well with darker green indoor plants and modern interior designs.
