Peace Lily ‘Domino’

Peace Lily ‘Domino’ is a striking variegated cultivar of the popular Peace Lily, valued for its elegant white-speckled foliage and ability to thrive indoors with minimal care. The glossy green leaves are uniquely patterned with splashes and flecks of cream and white, giving the plant a brighter and more decorative appearance than standard green Peace Lily varieties.

In addition to its attractive foliage, Peace Lily ‘Domino’ produces the classic white hood-like flowers that rise above the leaves on slender stems. These blooms can appear throughout the year under favourable conditions, providing long-lasting ornamental appeal.

Key Features

Peace Lily ‘Domino’ combines the easy-care nature of traditional Peace Lilies with highly ornamental variegated foliage. The unique leaf markings ensure that no two leaves are exactly alike, creating visual interest even when the plant is not flowering.

Its compact growth habit makes it suitable for homes, offices, apartments, and commercial interiors. The plant is also known for its ability to adapt to a range of indoor environments.

Growth Habit and Size

This plant grows as a dense clump, with leaves emerging directly from the base to form a full, upright mound.

Indoors, Peace Lily ‘Domino’ typically reaches 40–90 cm in height and spread, depending on growing conditions and container size. Growth is moderate under stable indoor conditions.

Care Requirements

Light

Prefers bright, indirect light to maintain strong variegation and encourage flowering.

It can tolerate lower light conditions, although growth may slow and flowering may become less frequent. Avoid prolonged direct sunlight, which can scorch the leaves.

Watering

Keep the soil lightly moist but not saturated. Water when the top few centimetres of soil begin to dry.

Peace Lilies will often droop slightly when thirsty and recover quickly after watering. Avoid allowing the soil to remain constantly wet.

Soil

A well-draining, moisture-retentive indoor potting mix is ideal. The soil should hold moisture while allowing excess water to drain freely.

Temperature and Humidity

Thrives in temperatures between 18°C and 30°C.

Prefers moderate to high humidity but adapts well to typical indoor conditions. Increased humidity helps maintain lush foliage and healthy growth.

Maintenance

Remove spent flowers and damaged leaves as required to maintain appearance.

Wipe leaves occasionally to remove dust and enhance the natural gloss of the foliage.

Apply a balanced liquid fertiliser during spring and summer to encourage growth and flowering.

Repot every 2–3 years or when the plant becomes root-bound.

Common Issues

Yellow leaves are often caused by overwatering or poor drainage.

Brown leaf tips may result from low humidity, inconsistent watering, or mineral buildup from tap water.

Reduced flowering is commonly associated with insufficient light.

Drooping foliage usually indicates the plant requires watering.

Applications

Peace Lily ‘Domino’ is suitable for:

Indoor pots and decorative containers
Office and reception areas
Apartment living spaces
Bedrooms and living rooms
Commercial interiors
Shaded patios and covered outdoor areas in warm climates

Its variegated foliage provides year-round interest even when not in flower.
